Abstract

The linear expansion coefficient of SrO-La2O3-Al2O3 -B2O3-SiO2 sealing materials with different composition, which for anode supported intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (ITSOFC) was studied. The crystallite content of SrCO3 28.14 mol%, La2O3 21.17mol%, Al2O 7.223 mol%, H2BO3 41.72 mol%, SiO2 1.76 mol%(SLABS3) met the requirements best. DTA analysis showed that the transition and crystallization temperature of SLABS3 was 670-760°C and 813-840°C respectively, but for the soften temperature was 900°C. XRD test demonstrated that there was no reaction between the crystallite glass and Ni-La0.3Ce0.7O1.85 (Ni-LDC) anode materials. SEM found that the glass bonded well with the anode after heat-treated at 850°C for 100 h and EPMA analysis demonstrated that although the Ce element would diffuse 10μm to the anode, none element of the crystallite glass was found to diffuse to the anode. The OCV of the simulated cell sealed with SLABS3 proved that the sealing results and stability were satisfied.
