Abstract

To be satisfied with complex load condition of electric vehicle, fuzzy logic control (FLC) is applied to improve speed response and system robust performance of induction traction machine based on indirect rotor field orientation control. Compared with the traditional PI speed control, the FLC induction traction machine presents not only good steady characteristic, but smaller start up time with little overshoot. These experiments are built on a 30 kW water-cooled induction machine traction drive system, which is controlled by a single DSP controller of digital indirect rotor field orientation control and powered by a 312 VDC traction lead-acid battery package.
