Abstract

Based on Lambert law, a single scatter model about NLOS ultraviolet communication system of intensity modulate/direct detection was set up. According to the transmission model, atmospheric transmission attenuation, atmospheric scattering attenuation and inverse ration of square distance attenuation are the three main factors leading to the power attenuation with the distance increase. In order to put the model into in practice, the model was simplified. Tested by the experiment outdoors, the calculation based on the model accords with the data acquired from experiment quite well. The simplified model could calculate power received by the receiver in different distance and transmission loss efficiently, which gives effective way to budget and evaluate the transmission distance of NLOS ultraviolet communication systems in solar-blind.
