Abstract

A high power LD end-pumped Nd: YVO4 intracavity frequency-doubled 671 nm laser is demonstrated. A thin lens model is introduced to design a thermally-insensitive cavity. The thermally induced lens versus thermal power under different pump size is given. A schematic experimental configuration, including laser diode, temperature controller, fiber, coupling system, Nd:YV04 and M1, copper heatsink etc. is shown. The output power of 890 mW at 671 nm is achieved with a type-II noncritical phase-matched (NCPM) LBO crystal.
