Abstract

A series of new complexes, [HB{pzAn}3]CuOAc (1), [HB{pzAn}3]CuCl(pzAnH) (2), ([HB{pzAn,Me}3]Cu)2OAc (3) and [HB{pzAn,Me}3]CuCl(pzAn,MeH) (4) [pzAn = 3-(p-anisyl)pyrazolyl, pzAn,Me = 3-(p-anisyl)-5-methylpyrazolyl] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, ESR spectra, mass spectra and CV measurements. The compounds (2) and (4) are five-coordinated with an additional pyrazole ligand. The infrared bands vas(CO2) and vs(CO2) indicate that the acetate is an unidentate ligand in (1) but a bridging one in (3).
