Abstract

The paper is concerned with the design and stability analysis of networked control systems with random network delay, which are described in a state-space form. It presents a new control scheme, which is termed networked predictive control. This scheme mainly consists of the control prediction generator and network delay compensator. The control prediction generator provides a set of future control predictions to make the closed-loop system achieve the desired control performance and the network delay compensator removes the effects of the network transmission delay. The stability criteria of the closed-loop networked predictive control systems are analytically derived for fixed. In case of random network delay, a switched system's method has been proposed, which solves the stochastic problem in a deterministic way.
