Abstract

Bi2 Te3 nanocrystals with different morphologies including nanoparticles, nanorods and nanosheets were synthesized via a solvothermal process with surfactant sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) in hydrazine hydrate at 180°C for l0h. The products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron spectroscopy (TEM), energy dispersion X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The influences of surfactant amount and temperature on morphology of products were discussed. A possible formation mechanism is proposed.
