Abstract

A new type of solar pumped laser amplifier system with the use of a Fresnel lens and a Nd:YAG crystal laser medium is reported in this paper. Let solar pumped a 1% Nd3+ doped YAG crystal directly. The size of Nd:YAG sample is 2.9 mm×18 mm×16.3 mm. CW-laser light generated in a 1 064 nm solid state-laser was amplified by a new total reflection slab made of Nd:YAG crystal. The beam quality and beam-divergence of the seed laser are M2<1.5 and angle<1.5 mrad. When the input power of seed laser was 296 mW and the solar pumping power was 561 W, we can get a 484 mW output power with 1.64 times power amplification.
