Abstract
Single-frequency laser output at 1116 nm is implemented employing a monolithic non-planar ring oscillator (NPRO) and a reflective volume Bragg grating (RVBG). By optimizing the structural parameters of the non-planar ring oscillator and the parameters of the reflective volume Bragg grating, using an 808 nm laser as the pump source, a 1116 nm single-frequency continuous-wave laser output of 91.3 mW is obtained under a pump power of 5.3 W. The beam quality factors are Mx2 = 1.19 and My2 = 1.08, and the power stability is 0.81%. When the temperature varies from 17 °C to 27 °C, a maximum continuous tuning range of 4.7 GHz is achieved without mode hopping, with a temperature tuning coefficient of −3.1 GHz/°C. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of continuous-wave single-frequency lasing at 1116 nm from a monolithic nonplanar ring oscillator.
