Abstract

(Figure Presented) Upon thermal evaporation of a mixture of ZnS or CdS with P and Mn3P2 powders, nanotubes of II3-V 2 semiconductors (Zn3P2 or Cd3P 2) morph around metal nanorods that are formed in situ. These thin-walled nanotubes are single crystals with open ends, circular cross sections, and uniform diameters (see picture).
