Simulation implementation and performance analysis of STDMA protocol

Abstract

In this paper, we focus on self-organizing time division multiple access (STDMA) protocol, which can provide slot selection algorithm in VHF data link communication. Almost all the previous researches about STDMA protocol are the theoretical analysis of the protocol. They hardly intuitively evaluate the whole performance of the protocol. Therefore, it is necessary to implement the STDMA protocol with simulation tool. Firstly we discuss the overview of the STDMA protocol and then introduce how to implement the protocol in GloMoSim. In the end of the paper, the performance of the STDMA protocol is analyzed through simulations. The simulation results show that STDMA protocol has the self-organizing characteristic in the slot selection.
