Abstract
To meet the high requirement on the ride comfort, handling stability and safety, an active air spring suspension system was developed in a passenger car with an additional device on the base of the original passive air springs, which consists of hydraulic and pneumatic elements and works to adjust and keep down the pitch and roll movements of vehicle body. Three conceptual models were built for the air suspension system in this project. With the same input parameters, three models were simulated to compare on the result of active control. The results show that the hydropneumatic actuator is the best choice for the vehicle because of its high velocity of movement and high precision of displacement. So this type of actuator will be preferably used in the vehicles.
