Semi-Airborne Model for Radiation from Large Grounded Wire Antenna

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This letter proposes a semi-Airborne model, which is used to calculate the three magnetic field components generated by a large grounded wire antenna. In the model, the antenna is an arbitrary-length grounded wire while the observing points are placed in the air. In the experiment, the magnetic field was generated by a large grounded wire source antenna excited by bipolar square wave. Optically pumped magnetometer suspended below a helicopter was employed to measure the magnetic field. The numerical results based on the proposed model fit to the experiment data very well. This will provide great benefits for semi-Airborne prospecting or other flight cases.
