Abstract

the long distance compressed natural gas (CNG) pipeline is liable to damaged by environmental and man-made reasons. All these can lead to CNG massive leakage or explosion. The consequence of leakage, especially fire and explosion, will cause serious loss to people and constructions. Based on the pipe leakage model, the calculation method of safety distance of CNG leakage and explosion is studied with the consideration of some conditions. The method is applied in the safety distance determination of an existing long distance CNG pipeline.
