Abstract

Focusing on the successful Mars landing exploration missions and developing demand for Mars landing exploration missions in the future, the necessity and importance of autonomous navigation for Mars entry phase are elaborated. First, state-of-the-art techniques and research tendency of autonomous navigation for Mars entry phase are summarized. Then the characteristics and challenges encountered are analyzed, and key techniques involved are discussed synthetically. Finally, the development direction of Chinese Mars entry navigation technique for future Mars exploration missions is previewed.
