Abstract

Unexpected shift often occurs in the working of an automatic transmission. This paper analyzes the causes of this phenomenon and its influences on the heavy-duty vehicles' AT. The method of setting a reasonable shift delay interval and realtime detection on torque converter speed ration is proposed to solve this problem. The shift control strategy to eliminate unexpected shifts is designed and validated by simulation.
