N2 - Based on the grounded theory, this study reveals the internal mechanism of human-machine collaboration mode in industrial design driven by generative artificial intelligence through in-depth interviews with front-line designers. The research constructs a theoretical model with design intelligent collaboration as the core. It is found that AI mainly reconstructs the inspiration exploration and concept generation in the early stage of design, and improves efficiency by accelerating creative divergence and visualization. The effect of collaboration is regulated by project attributes and designer experience. Designers adopt demand guidance-result screening-information management strategy to deal with AI limitations; this synergy brings about the dual changes of efficiency and innovation, and promotes the evolution of the designer 's role to the strategy integrator. Finally, the intelligent development path of industrial design is proposed from three aspects: process, ability and ecology.
