Abstract

In order to evaluate the damage ability of shock wave to the structure, the experimental study on the dynamic plastic response of fully clamped square and circular A3 plates with 1mm thickness was carried out, which were subjected to the explosive loading produced by TNT with different masses to the plate at different burst distances. The plastic deformation processes of plates were simulated by using three-dimensional LS-DYNA finite element software. The influence of the plate shape on its deformation was discussed. The results reveal that the square and circular plates show obvious plastic deformations under the explosive loading; the square plate tends to deform and the circular plate tends to tear with the growth of explosive loading.
