Abstract
The tungsten heavy alloys were treated by solid surface carburization method and examined by microscope, SEM and X-ray, etc. The results show that the two carburization layers can be obtained at 950°C for 5 h in solid carburetant; the surface W2C layer with thickness of 170 μm to 200 μm, hardness of HV388 to HV525 can improve surface hardness effectively; the tungsten grains in the secondary surface layer don't change evidently, the carbide exists in the binding phase mainly.
