Abstract

To solve problems that fixture parts' knowledge cannot be quickly reused to design process of fixture, the concept of knowledge components is introduced. Knowledge components modeling method of fixture part is proposed. Knowledge components model composed of parameters, rules, solid model and assembly information is defined. The information model is expressed and stored based on XML. Knowledge components model are provided to support the specifications determination, semantic modeling of solid model and assembly of fixture parts by loosely coupled manner. Design knowledge is seamlessly, quickly applied to the design process of fixture. Effectiveness of the proposed model is verified by a fixture design example of aircraft.
