N2 - According to the concept and characteristics of virtual assembly feature, reconstruction method of virtual assembly feature model is proposed. Using the secondary development tools provided by ProEngineer, namely, ToolKit, getting assembly information is implemented. Based on analysis about three kinds mapping methods between the geometric elements and triangulated patches, an complete information model of virtual assembly features is established that regard model information database as underlying data to support, and finally, virtual assembly modeling method of a certain type of hydraulic torque converter in the transmission system is taken as an example to be verified.
