Abstract

Fuel cell vehicles (FCV) are widely recognized for their environmental benefits, high efficiency, and short refueling times, garnering significant attention both domestically and internationally. However, the challenges of low-temperature startup and the substantial decline in the performance of power batteries under cold conditions severely hinder the widespread adoption of FCVs. This study investigates low-temperature technologies for fuel cells and power batteries, designs a low-temperature thermal management system for a fuel cell hybrid powertrain, and develops low-temperature startup techniques along with a multimode coordinated control strategy for rapid cold-start. These solutions were validated through vehicle testing, demonstrating that the designed thermal management system and the multimode coordinated control strategy effectively enhance the overall efficiency and cold-start capability of fuel cell vehicles.
