Abstract

Inserting the high resolution image at gazing direction into the background image, might resolve the conflicts between the large field of view and the high resolution in conventional head-mounted-display (HMD). According to the requirement of large field of view in virtual reality and human eye's better acuity area and high visual acuity, the image scales of background image and inserting image were designed. And in order to avoid the steep degradation at the edge of the two images, an image smoothing method is proposed and better experiment results are achieved.
