Abstract

The method to construct the blade surface of developable impeller of vehicle turbocharger is investigated. Firstly, based on the analysis of design and machining characters of Bezier ruling blade, the concept for constructing blade surfaces by using developable ruling surface is proposed, and the formula of developable ruling surface is derived. Based on these considerations, a new approach to construct offset developable ruling surface to form the suction and pressure surfaces of blades is provided, thus realizing the design of developable impeller blade.
