Abstract

Traditional manual gearboxes with fixed-shafts are still in extensive use in heavy-duty vehicles in our country. There are many limitations when they are compared with the international advanced automatic transmission technology and these limitations become more and more obvious and intolerable. The self-independently-developed automatic shift control system (ASCS) makes this problem resolved. The entire structure, operational principles, design theory and the characteristic of the system are introduced in detail in this paper. The result of the vehicular test proves that the automatic shift control system has a commendable behavior. Because the ASCS is the successful application of the integration of mechanical, hydraulic and electronic technologies, it will bring a bright prosperity for manual gearboxes with fixed-shafts to realize automatic shift control.
