Abstract

This paper presented three structure design schemes which could realize internal EGR for CA6DF3-24 diesel engine. The work built three models using GT-POWER software and analyzed the results of EGR rate, NOx emission and BSFC. According to the calculation results, the optimum scheme is to append a little cam for the exhaust cam which can make the exhaust valve reopen. At last, the researches focused on the influence of internal EGR on the power, economy and emission of the engine through the engine test rig. The results show that the internal EGR can effectively decrease NOx emission. On the contrary, it makes the penalty on the exhaust smoke.
