Abstract

This paper proposes a k-out-of-n F balanced system with variable balance rules. The system is composed of multiple sectors, each incorporating a number of components. It is divided into three operation states according to its operation conditions. The system operates in balanced conditions, which depend on its operation state. Thus, the variable balanced rules are first considered in this paper. If the system is unbalanced, it should carry out rebalancing actions by resuming standby components to work or switching operating components to standby. The Markov process is used to characterize system behavior and obtain system reliability. Numerical examples of unmanned aerial vehicles are given to verify the validity of the proposed model and approach.
