Abstract

Holiday traffic has obviously exhibited its own characters and regularity different from work days, thus there is huge difference between the travel activities on holidays and that of work days. It is necessary to analyze holiday travel activities caused by individual characteristics. To obtain this result, cross-tabulation method was used and some individual characteristics such as gender, career, age, vehicle ownership and education etc., were selected as influencing factors. Based on holiday travel questionnaires in Beijing, the relationship between individual characteristics and holiday activity pattern choosing has been studied and the correlation of different characteristics and most influential activity patterns were analyzed. Results indicate that individual characteristics including age, career, and inhabitant sites are the most influential factors to the holiday activity patterns.
