Abstract

Ultrasonic treatment was first used to recycle MH-Ni batteries in this paper. The effects of ultrasonic treatment on electrode material performance of MH/Ni batteries have been investigated by using SEM and XRD methods. The results indicated that there are obvious disperse phenomena in the positive and negative electrodes along with the ultrasonic treatment. This can make the inertia oxidation layer break off from the negative electrode, and the fresh surface was come out. These changes can increase the active materials center of the reaction, as well as improve the catalyses capability and discharge ability. The improvement of electrochemical performance for MH-Ni batteries is furthest evidence by ultrasonic treatment for 6h continuously.
