Redeployment algorithm for 3d-wireless sensor networks for energy balance

Abstract

The sensor redeployment is an important problem in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) research. The redeployment of sensors could improve the coverage rate of the network, which could enhance the quality of service (QoS) of the whole sensor network. A redeployment algorithm is presented to keep the energy balance of 3D-WSNs. Based on this algorithm, the traditional virtual force algorithm (VFA) is expanded to be used in the 3D space. The energy imbalance of nodes and its influence are analyzed for the current redeployment algorithms. The traditional virtual force algorithm is improved to solve too much energy consumption for some sensors in the network.
