Abstract

Comparing pinhole model of γ camera to parallel beam model and based on the algebraic reconstruction techniques (ART), we achieved the reconstruction of 3D image by using 2D gamma image in homogeneous medium in this paper. By comparing the different position and intensity distribution of reconstructed image with the option whether to add the attenuation compensation, the influence of homogeneous medium to 3D gamma image reconstruction is studied: attenuation medium can only affect the intensity not the position of radioactive source. MCNP simulation data reconstruction results show the proposed scheme is feasible.
