Abstract
Electrocatalytic through C─N coupling with CO 2 and nitrogen-containing species (N2, NO3 and, etc.), as a “green synthesis strategy”, not only effectively reduces the environmental pollution problems, but also establishes a new route for the synthesis of value-added chemicals, including urea, amide and other high value-added organic nitrogen-containing products. This chapter summarizes the development history of electrocatalytic C─N coupling reactions and basic concept systematically. In addition, this chapter mainly emphasizes the research progress in the electrocatalysts exploration, the reaction mechanism of C─N coupling, as well as the advanced in situ characterization techniques. This chapter aims at promoting the overall understanding in this field and paving the way for synthesis other important chemicals through electrocatalytic C─N coupling under mild conditions.
