Abstract

This review highlights recent advances in the research of organoaluminum complexes in catalysis. Many fundamental transformations can be carried out by aluminum catalysts, such as hydroboration, hydroamination, copolymerization and CO2 insertion reactions, hydrosilylation, and hydroacetylenation of carbodiimides, which make use of the abundant reserves of aluminum in the earth‘s crust to accomplish the transformation. Recent research in the field has shown that these systems have extraordinary catalytic activity and are inexpensive, abundant, and environmentally friendly.
