Abstract

This paper presents a radar cross-section (RCS) imitation method for polarimetric radar based on standard reflector arrangement. Dihedral corner reflectors are widely used for polarimetric radar calibration, and their polarimetric RCS characteristics can be calculated by analytical formulas. Then, an image neural network-based matching method is proposed to match imitated standard-reflector images with target 2-D images, enabling inverse estimation of corner reflector parameters. By using an imitation-based image database, the proposed method realizes target RCS imitation by retrieving the corresponding standard reflector parameters. Imitation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.
