Abstract

Radar target signature is usually measured using step frequency radar system, in which the beam of antenna can not be changed. According to the need of the measurements, various beam width, various frequency band width and various beam scanning angle can be chosen. Digital beam forming technology can be applied to promote the measurements to a new level. Not only the desired main lobe can be got, but also the side lobe can be lowered. In addition, digital beam forming appears better efficiency in calibration and scanning adaptively.
