Abstract

Product sorting is a method to enhance product quality for packing lines. By considering the cumulative propagation of packing quality, the influence of product sequencing on packing quality was studied. Utilizing only quality inspection data, a model was established to analyze the relationship between product sequencing and quality performance. This model is based on a packing sequence approach using order similarity, which reorders the products to reduce the number of product switches during packing and consequently improves the packing quality.
