Abstract

This paper first reviews the theory of electromagnetic transient simulation based on nodal analysis. And the problems and challenges in the application are analyzed in detail. Then the recent progresses on the algorithm of electromagnetic transient simulation in terms of model extension, improvement of calculation precision and speed are introduced.
