Abstract
In this paper some phenomena observed in experiments on combustion in oxidizing atmosphere of light metal particles, such as aluminium, magnesium, and beryllium, were presented. On the basis of these phenomena the vapor-phase diffusion, heterogeneous, and composite mechanisms were reviewed.
