Abstract

A product assembly process modeling method based on hierarchy chain technique was proposed to avoid the problem that information was expressed incompletely in current assembly process models. Assembly task and assembly operation were introduced, so the information in assembly process was perfectly expressed through conducting assembly process model which combined coarse-grained assembly task with fine-grained assembly operation. The assembly process model could be constructed under non-linear assembly using paralleled assembly operation, as well as non-monotonic assembly using adjusting assembly task and disassembling assembly task. The information in assembly process was managed and reused through roll back, redo and replay of assembly process. A prototype system was developed to validate the arithmetic.
