Abstract
4,4',6,6'-Tetra(azido)azo-1,3,5-triazine(TAAT) was synthesized by an improved synthesis method with the yield of 82.1%. DSC, IR, NMR, elemental analysis as well as crystal structure diffraction were used to characterize the TAAT and intermediate products. C 2N 3 and C 3N 5 whose N/C ratios highly resembled the theoretical peers were prepared by pyrolysis from TAAT. The mechanisms for TAAT pyrolysis and C 2N 3/C 3N 5 generation were discussed.
