Abstract
Two-component waterborne polyurethane soft feel coatings were prepared and their properties were investigated. The soft feel coatings were fabricated by hydroxyl-containing polyurethane, polyurethane dispersions and water-emulsifiable polyisocyanate. The dispersions were achieved by synthesized polyester polyol and isocyanate. The influence of molecular weight of polyester polyol, content of DMPA, molar ratio of -OH/-NCO on performance of the coating such as stability, pencil hardness, adhesion, flexibility, water resistance, solvent resistance, chemical resistance, resistance to scratches and cosmetics was investigated. It is found that a kind of high-performance film could be prepared in condition as follows. The molecular weight of polyester polyols is 2000, -OH/-NCO=1.6 and DMPA=6% during synthesis polyurethane dispersions, while -NCO/-OH=1.5 in the process of curing.
