Abstract

{[Ag(ATO)2]Cl04}n was prepared by mixing the aqueous solutions of 4-amino-1,2,4-triazol-5-one and silver perchlorate. The product was characterized by thermal analysis, TG-DTG, element analysis, and IR measurement. The crystal structure of [Ag(ATO)2]ClO4 was determined by single crystal diffraction analysis. The crystal is triclinic, space group P1 with crystal parameters of a = 0.7534(1)nm, b = 0.8505(1)nm, c = 1.0257(1)nm; a = 69.47(1)°, β = 72.69(1)°, γ = 86.00(1)°; V = 0.5872(1)nm3, Z = 2, Dc = 2.305g/cm3, F(000) = 400. The final R is 0. 0358. The silver ion represents three coordination geometry with three different nitrogen atoms.
