Abstract

The coordination compound of {[Sr(CHZ)₂(H₂O)] ·(NTO)₂·3.5H₂O}_n was prepared by mixing carbohydrazide aqueous solution and strontium salt solution which was obtained through the reaction of strontium carbonate and 3-nitro-1, 2, 4-triazolo-5-one (NTO). The compound was characterized by using elemental analysis and FT-IR. The crystal structure of {[Sr(CHZ)₂(H ₂O)]·(NTO)₂·3.5H₂O}_n (C₆H₂₃SrN₁₆O_12.5, M_r = 607.02) was determined by using single-crystal diffraction. The crystal is of monoclinic, space group C2/c with the unit cell parameters: a = 24.587(5), b = 12.689(2), c = 16.481(4) Å, β = 121.15(1)°, V = 4400.4(2)Å³, Z = 8, D_c = 1.833 g/cm³, μ = 0.255cm^-1, F(000) = 2472, R = 0.0989 and wR = 0.0750.
