Abstract

A new approach to design polytopic gain scheduled mixed H2/H∞ output feedback controllers for airborne dispenser pitch channel is presented. A filter is introduced to obtain a pitch channel augmented system, which is apt to have the polytopic gain scheduled controller designed. Then the system is put into a polytopic expression by a convex decomposition. The polytopic features are used to simplify the controller design to be a vertices' controller design for the polytope. An output feedback controller, which satisfies satisfies H2/H∞ performance, for each vertex of the polytope is designed with a LMI approach. A global gain scheduled controller is obtained by a synthesis of the vertex controllers. Simulation results demonstrate that the controller has favorable performance.
