Abstract

Phase segregation degree of 3,3'-bisazidomethyloxetane-3-azidomethyl-3- methyloxetane (BAMO-AM-MO) tri-block copolymer was investigated by DSC. Grain size and interplanar spacing of pBAMO homopolymer and BAMO-AMMO tri-block copolymer were calculated using Scherrer and Bragg equation. Crystallinity of pBAMO homopolymer and BAMO-AMMO tri-block copolymer was compared through XRD patterns. The results show that apparent phase segregation of soft and hard seqments exists in BAMO-AMMO tri-block copolymer. The copolymer exhibites thermoplastic elastomer characteristics. The degree of phase segregation is 79. 45%. Crystallinity of BAMO segment in copolymer is 74. 81%, compared with 80. 30% of pBAMO homopolymer. Increase in glass transition temperature and decrease in crystallinity of tri-block copolymer are caused by partly miscible between soft and hard segments.
