Abstract

Chopping and Interleaving (C&I) jamming is a kind of active coherent interference, and it is difficult to separate the target echo from the jamming signal. C&I jamming can result in a series of coherent false targets, thus seriously reducing the detecting performance of radar. To tackle this problem, this paper proposes a phase-coded waveform design method to suppress the interference. Firstly, the principle of chopping and interleaving jamming is analyzed and an optimization problem with the objective function of minimizing the jamming peak level (JPL) is established. Then, the genetic algorithm is used to solve the optimization problem. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and the robustness of the designed waveforms.
