Abstract

Electric vehicles equipped with lithium-ion batteries are playing a key role in daily life. The accidents related to electric vehicles usually generate significant losses. Hence an efficient emergency response program can reduce losses in accidents. In this paper, we employed the program evaluation and review technique (PERT) to depict the emergency response procedure of a fire accident of an electric vehicle in a parking lot. By considering the logical and sequential relationships, we developed the corresponding PERT model. Subsequently, based on the expected completion time of emergency response and the working duration of each activity, the time parameters of the PERT model are obtained. Eventually, we attained the critical path and the probability of completion of emergency response under different time constraints.
