Abstract
Optical label erasing is one of the critical issues in all-optical label swapping (AOLS) networks. In this paper, the cascaded performance analysis of the label eraser is proposed. The influences of the residual labels are also investigated. By means of the methods above, the performance of the fiber-loop mirror (FLM) eraser with cosine transfer function is compared with the Lyot-Sagnac eraser that has the much flatter passband and sharper notch.
