Abstract

This paper proposes a novel current-fed dual active bridge (CF-DAB) that can be applied in the fields of new energy, energy storage systems, and electric vehicles. Compared with traditional voltage-fed DAB, CF-DAB can realize wide input and output voltage applications and smaller source current ripple. Three legs in the HVS and two transformers provide more possibilities for multilevel control. The converter adopts the PPS modulation strategy and voltage matching control, which is more practical and can decrease the current peak of inductors. In addition, the design of circuit parameters is provided by more detailed mathematical analysis of ZVS conditions and current RMS. Finally, the converter is simulated by PSIM software, and the results verify the effectiveness of the converter and the feasibility of the control strategy.
