Over 2000-km transmission of 60-Gbaud PDM-QPSK signal with heterodyne Detection and SE of 4b/s/Hz

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate 8×240-Gb/s WDM-PDM-QPSK signal transmission on50-GHz grid over 5×420-km SMF-28 with 4-b/s/Hz net SE adopting simplified heterodyne detection and 9QAM-like procession. 9QAM-like procession is more efficient than digital-postfiltering for this heterodyne system.
